About Us

Built Different.

Sims Audio Systems was founded on a simple belief: professional-grade speakers should be built by people who understand professional sound.

Background

Our Story

Sims Audio Systems grew out of a passion for live sound. Our founder spent years working as a sound engineer on touring productions and PA hire rigs, and kept running into the same problem: cabinets that looked the part but couldn't survive the demands of real-world professional use.

So we started building our own. Every design decision — from the cabinet joinery to the driver specification — comes from hard-won experience on stages and in venues across the UK.

Today, Sims Audio Systems supplies PA hire companies, touring bands, and venue installations with speaker systems that are built to last and engineered to perform.

Process

How We Build

Every cabinet is manufactured in our UK workshop using materials and processes we've refined over years of professional use.

01

Cabinet Construction

We use 18mm and 21mm birch ply throughout — no MDF shortcuts. Cabinets are glued, screwed, and braced for maximum rigidity and resonance control.

02

Driver Selection

We specify only proven professional drivers from established manufacturers. Every driver is tested before installation to ensure it meets our performance standards.

03

Crossover & Tuning

Passive crossovers are designed in-house and hand-assembled. Each cabinet is tuned and measured before leaving the workshop.

04

Finishing & Hardware

Steel corners, recessed handles, and Speakon connectors as standard. Finished in durable paint to touring specification.

What We Stand For

Our Values

No Compromises

We don't cut corners on materials or components. If it's not good enough for a touring rig, it doesn't go in our cabinets.

Built to Last

Our cabinets are designed to survive years of hire use — not just look good in a showroom. Robust construction is non-negotiable.

Professional Knowledge

We've worked in live sound. We know what hire companies, DJs, and bands actually need from their equipment.

Work With Us

Whether you're a hire company looking to expand your stock, a band building a touring rig, or a venue needing a permanent install — we'd love to hear from you.
